The Lab is taught by working film professionals from all over the country and participants will film and edit their own 5 minute short. Taking place June 10-28th at AMFA in Little Rock, FL4TG gives young women a chance to experience directing, cinematography, editing, production design, lighting, sound recording and to ask questions about careers in the male-dominated world of cinema. ACS is taking one small step to help correct this inequity of women in the film workforce by giving young women the opportunity to take on leadership roles while learning the craft of this visual art. The Lab is free to participants, thanks to our sponsor the Women's Foundation of Arkansas. During the Lab, participants will gain a true sense of how films are a collaborative endeavor and the power that film can have to shape the social narrative. Their films are showcased during our annual festival, Filmland, which attracts statewide and national film talent. Past students from the Lab have even had the opportunity for a private Q+A session with award-winning actor and producer, Jessica Chastain, writer Lucy Alibar and Bert of directing duo Bert & Bertie!
