These include learning to take an ambitious idea from concept to execution; identifying and overcoming obstacles; and working collaboratively and creatively with a team in a unique environment.
Three Step Process:
Step 1 -- FIND: THE STELLAR-STUDENT SELECTION PROCESS
Through an application process, eight (8) students will be chosen from the 10th, 11th, & 12th grades in Central Arkansas. Although they do not have to be artists, interest in Hip-Hop culture will be suggested as the program will teach and utilize tools from its influence (empowerment of the disenfranchised, communication, creativity, confidence, etc.) Also, at least five (5) students will be from underserved communities.
Students will be required to submit a reference, their recent achievements, and their recent community service. However, the bulk of the application will use a more modern approach. Given a question related to the themes of the program, the student will have to submit a 3-5 minute video answer. Through a judging process, the top (8) students will be chosen for the program.

Step 2 -- ACTIVATE: THE INCUBATOR & LAUNCH
The selected students will enter an intensive one (1) week virtual after-school incubator. They will jointly conceive a project and receive resources to execute it. The project must provide a quantitative benefit to an underserved community in Central Arkansas for their relative age range or younger. The incubator will culminate in an online event created from the students to benefit the cause. Its success will be based on the following criteria:
- Impact ~ How does the target community benefit from the project? Can this be quantified?
- Relevance ~ How great of a need is there for this project?
- Influence ~ How are individuals in the community involved in this project?
- Sustainability ~ What is the likelihood that the project (product, service, event, etc.) can be repeated with the same or greater impact?
- Voice & Creativity ~ Does the applicant’s personality come across in a clear and positive way? How did their entry stand out?
Step 3 -- MATURE: NURTURING THE STUDENTS’ PROGRESS
After leaving the program, the students will be expected to enter a community project oriented program for their upcoming year of school. A member of TFP’s staff will monitor and provide resources for their progress as well as serve as a mentor through regular meetings.

We have previously worked and hosted workshops led by university admission officers, including those from John Hopkins, CalTech, Brown, Northwestern, Williams and more, writers for Kaplan’s SAT test books, and industry leaders, including professionals in consulting and students working at NASA. The College ARCH Fellowship will take place from July 7th to August 6th. Applications to the fellowship have opened, and can be accessed through the following link: https://www.collegearch.org/apply/mentee. Internship Initiative
Goal
The goal of the Internship Initiative is to use the OWJEF’s relationships with partner organizations and businesses to connect our former scholarship recipients who are currently in college with paid summer internship opportunities. Through this program, we hope to give college students the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in their career field, connections with vocation mentors, a reputable business to list on their resumes, and much-needed income for the summer. Our partner organizations benefit from this program as well. They get a competent, character-filled intern who can serve in an apprentice or support role during a portion of the summer, and potentially could be a candidate for employment. This initiative does not guarantee that there will be internships available with our partner organizations, nor does it guarantee that if an internship is available, our scholar will be hired to fill it. Our goal with this initiative is to connect the scholar with the partner organizations and create opportunities that may not otherwise exist. Our Internship Initiative Committee will gather information from our previous recipients to determine whether they qualify and their current career path. We will use that information to match the student with a potential partner organization. Student Qualifications
